Alabama Youth Sports Combine Named Official Training Partner for ASBA

Mobile, Alabama – June 11, 2018 – ASBA is pleased to announce Alabama Youth Sports Combine as the Official Training Partner for the league. The Alabama Youth Sports Combine is a 20,000 square foot sports training and adult fitness facility. It offers sports performance, skills training, group fitness classes and personal training programs, focusing on the importance of proper diet and nutrition in tandem with physical activity.

ASBA Launches Live Network To Cover All-New Professional Women’s Softball League

Mobile, Alabama –June 5, 2018 – The American Softball Association (ASBA) is pleased to announce the launch of ASBA Network, a subscription-based online network that will stream games live, air pre- and post-game interviews and provide other pertinent content for softball fans and players.

“ASBA Network is a key part of our league,” said Michael Chiaradio, CEO and Chairman of ASBA. “Our goal is to profile the players as much as possible. We want them to become household names, not just in Mobile, but around the country. We want to promote professional softball for what it is – a great game played by amazing athletes.”

ASBA will play an intensive six-week schedule with one to two games daily at Satsuma High School’s softball field. The high school is located at 1 Gator Circle, Satsuma, AL. The first game will start each evening at 5 pm Central with the second game scheduled for 7:15. Sundays are scheduled for 2 pm and 4:15 with the season running from June 15 through July 31, 2018.

Admission to the game is $5 per person, one price for both games. Any child 12-years-old or younger who wears a softball or baseball jersey will get in free of charge. All proceeds from game and event admissions and concessions as well as ASBA Network subscriptions are split evenly between the players and the league which operates on a revenue-sharing model.

“The Mobile community has really embraced this league. We have dozens of families who are hosting our players and local merchants and businesses couldn’t be more supportive. ASBA brings a whole new family-friendly summer activity to Mobile. Our players are accessible and so very appreciative of their fans. They will serve as terrific role models for youth across the country.”

ASBA encourages local media to cover and report on the games. Coaches and players will be available daily for press conferences and interviews.

“Though we will stream all the games live on ASBA Network, nothing builds excitement in the community like local coverage. We will do everything possible to forge strong relationships with news sources who will help give softball the coverage it deserves.”

ASBA has over 90 players registered for the Summer League Draft which will be held Wednesday, June 6 at 4 pm CT at Moe’s Original Bar B Que, 701 Spring Hill Avenue, Mobile. The public is invited to attend the draft and a $5 donation is requested.

Herkimer College Coach P.J. Anadio Joins ASBA

Mobile, Alabama – May 28,2018 – ASBA is pleased to announce the hiring of P.J. Anadio as a head coach for the all-new women’s professional softball league.

“P.J. Anadio coaches at one of the top JUCO programs in the country. He’s a real motivator, both on the field and off and has earned a slew of accolades including multiple Coach of the Year awards. I couldn’t be happier to have P.J. as a part of our coaching staff this summer.”

Anadio is Head Softball Coach at Herkimer College, a New York state community college in the SUNY system. He has been at the helm of Herkimer since 2010 and has led his team to the Regional Final Four, Region III championship and NJCAA World Series.

An alumnus of Herkimer College, Anadio was a two-year captain for the baseball team. He is currently employed as a technical assistant in the Athletic Department where he serves as Director of Intramurals and Certified Pool Operator.

Anadio will coach the Futures1 team and draw the fourth and fifth overall pick in the ASBA Draft.

Jason Bryant Jennings Joins ASBA as Head Coach

Mobile, Alabama – May 19,2018 – ASBA is pleased to announce the hiring of Jason Bryant Jennings as a head coach for the all-new women’s professional softball league.

“Jason Jennings is exactly the kind of coach we were looking for,” said Michael Chiaradio, CEO and Chairman of ASBA. “He is not only a master of the sport, but of the mindset behind it. His perspective and experience are a winning combination for ASBA.”

Jennings comes to ASBA after spending the last four years working as a life coach for professional softball players and college coaches. For over a decade he has been an analyst for college softball and hosts an online radio show on which he interviews the top coaches in the game. In addition, Jennings has enjoyed tenures as a high school coach in both South Carolina and Missouri.

“I’m excited to have Jason on our staff this summer,” said Chiaradio. “With his broadcasting experience, he’s not only going to be an asset on the field but for ASBA Network as well.”

Jennings will coach the E1 Pro Ballers team and draw the third pick in the 2018 ASBA Draft.

Alabama Orthopedic Clinic Named Official League Physicians for ASBA

Mobile, Alabama – May 25,2018 – ASBA is pleased to announce Alabama Orthopedic Clinic as the Official League Physicians for the league’s inaugural season in Mobile this summer.

Temple College Coach Pat Grant Joins ASBA

Mobile, Alabama – May 19,2018 – ASBA is pleased to announce the hiring of Pat Grant as a head coach for the all-new women’s professional softball league.

“As both a travel ball and college coach, Pat Grant brings a unique sensibility to the sport. His energy and ambitious spirit are infectious and I know he will bring out the best in his ASBA team this summer,” said Michael Chiaradio, CEO and Chairman of ASBA.

Grant is currently an Assistant Softball Coach at Temple College in central Texas. Temple is a nationally-recognized leader among community colleges. Before joining Temple College, Grant was a Graduate Assistant Coach at Mississippi College where he coached several All-Gulf South Conference and All-South Region players. He also coaches travel ball for Gulf Coast Velocity (16U) and Mississippi Prospects (16U), which have multiple Division I signees. As a student at Mississippi State, Grant spent time as a student manager under Head Softball Coach Vann Stuedeman.

Grant was a baseball player at Meridian Community College and graduated from Mississippi State in 2016.

Grant will coach the Outkast team and draw the second pick in the 2018 ASBA Draft.

Louisiana College Head Coach Bobby Buchanan Joins ASBA

Mobile, Alabama – May 19,2018 – ASBA is pleased to announce the hiring of Bobby Buchanan as a head coach for the all-new women’s professional softball league.

“Bobby Buchanan is the real thing,” said Michael Chiaradio, CEO and Chairman of ASBA. “His wealth of experience brings credibility and excitement to our league. We couldn’t be happier to welcome him to the ASBA family.”

Bobby Buchanan has just completed his first season as Head Softball Coach at Louisiana College in Pineville, LA. Prior to coaching at Louisiana College, Buchanan served as pitching and co-hitting coach at Southern University in Baton Rouge and has a combined five years of experience as an assistant or volunteer coach at the University of North Dakota, Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Texas State University.

In his first year at the helm at Louisiana College, Buchanan helped raise the softball team’s offensive output in almost every category. The Wildcats set a new team record with 140 stolen bases and picked up wins over two top-25 ranked teams.

 

 

“Buchanan is a dynamic recruiter, prolific fundraiser and fierce competitor. He is the perfect person to help us launch our league in Mobile. We can’t wait to see what he brings to ASBA.”

It’s a Whole New Ballgame With ASBA!

The all-new women’s professional softball league ASBA is hitting it out of the park with more and more high-caliber players registering for the draft every day!

ASBA emerged from the vision of CEO and Chairman, Michael Chiaradio, who saw a void in the opportunities for post-college softball players. The league is being built from the bottom up and is based on a revenue-sharing model that puts the players on an even playing field with the organization. There is no ceiling on earning potential, revenue is split equally between teams and the 2018 players receive founders’ shares in the company.

The ASBA business model is resonating with professional softball players as well as current college standouts as they register for the draft which will be held on June 6.
